Contributions or gifts to friends of Ben Jealous are not tax deductible. Maryland law requires that Ben Jealous request and report the employer and occupation of any individual who contributes more than $500 during the election cycle. Friends of Ben Jealous may accept up to $6,000 per person per election cycle. Friends of Ben Jealous may not accept contributions from foreign nationals, corporations chartered by an Act Of Congress, national banks, entities that derive the majority of their operating funds from the state of Maryland, or applications or holders of a video lottery operation license (including a person who owns an interest in such an entity). Registered state lobbyists may not forward or transmit contributions to Friends of Ben Jealous. Persons who do business with the state of Maryland may be required to disclose their contributions in filings with the state. If you are contributing from business entity funds, please determine whether an affiliated business entity has previously made a contribution to Friends of Ben Jealous and provide prompt written notice of the prior contribution, including the name and address of the affiliated business entity.
